4.4.3 Role of central banks - Theme 4 Edexcel A Level Economics

This double lesson introduces learners to the role of central banks in an economy. We start by looking at some notable central banks around the world to stimulate interest. We then look at the Bank of England in more detail before discussing the key functions of central banks such as implementing monetary policy, banker to the government, banker to the banks and regulation in the banking industry, particularly after the 2008 financial crisis.
